Genoa

Europe’s largest historic center, nestled tightly between the sea and hills, materializes as an expanse of dazzling palaces, interspersed with narrow alleys bustling with life. This is the heart of Genoa, a city that over centuries accumulated its power through its port and noble families, earning the nickname “La Superba” (The Superb One).
The preciousness of these buildings was consecrated by UNESCO, which declared Genoa and the Palazzi dei Rolli a World Heritage site in 2006.
An indissoluble bond with history and the sea, demonstrated by having given birth, among others,
to a world-renowned figure like Christopher Columbus.

History and Tradition

Today, Genoa presents itself in all its majestic beauty, with the Aquarium as the gravitational center of its tourist offerings.
It is, in fact, one of Europe’s largest and most modern marine parks, featuring evocative tanks that reproduce the habitats of the Mediterranean
and oceans from every latitude, and alone constitutes one of Italy’s most important tourist destinations.
And alongside it, also thanks to having been the European Capital of Culture in 2004, Genoa offers three important museum complexes: one dedicated to ancient art, one to the sea, and one to contemporary art.
