Cinque Terre

1997 the Cinque Terre were declared world heritage site. If you visit this area you will for sure understand why
Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza e Monterosso, are the 5 villages overlooking the sea from a steep coast; in the past the inhabitants worked hard to build dry-stone walls in order to turn an inaccessible territory into an astonishing and beautiful landscape, where they tenaciously cultivate some varieties of vineyards in order to produce renowned wines.

A beautiful and fragile territory
made of a rocky coast,
the deep waters,
topped by a chain of mountains
that run parallel to the coast.

A unique landscape

f you walk on the paths overlooking the sea you will discover,
the heart of this area: 5 coastal villages devoted to agriculture in the past and nowadays mainly to tourism;
you can easily move to one village to the other by train, visit them, discover unknown beaches, cliffs and picturesque inlets and admire beautiful landscapes.
